Kathleen S. “Katie” (Stott) Gaunt age 91 of Methuen, MA, died Wednesday at the Lawrence General Hospital, Lawrence, MA. She was born in Methuen, MA on July 8, 1914, and was a life long resident, and graduated from Edward F. Searles High School. She later graduated from the Forsyth Dental School in Boston, MA..
Mrs. Gaunt was a retired sales clerk for McCartney’s Clothing Store in Lawrence, MA. She was a life long member of the First Church Congregational in Methuen, MA, where she taught Sunday School, and was past president of the Phillips Guild, and at the time of her death was an active member of the Music Committee and the Organ Restoration Committee. She was also a member of the Lawrence Garden Club, the Methuen Women’s Club, a volunteer at the Henry C. Nevins Nursing Home, Methuen, MA for over 30 years, and was a volunteer at the Lawrence General Hospital during World War II and continued on for many years.
She was predeceased by her husband E. Abbot Gaunt. She was also predeceased by a daughter Susan Shepard, and a sister Muriel Hirst
She is survived by 1 Son: Dr. Abbot S. Gaunt & his Wife Sandra of Columbus, OH

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 4 at 10 AM at the First Church Congregational, Methuen, MA. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Methuen, MA. Calling hours will be held Friday, March 3, from 4-7 PM at the Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main Street, Salem, NH.
