Obituary

CAPE CORAL, FL – Erwin “Lupe” Luippold, 96, died in Cape Coral, FL on Thursday, July 16, 2020 following a long illness. Lupe was the son of Gustav and Anna (Cocking) and was born June 2, 1924 in Turners Falls, MA. He was a graduate of Turners Falls High School in 1942, the former Northampton Commercial College in 1947 and American International College in 1951. Erwin served in the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific as quartermaster aboard PT 114 throughout the duration of World War II. He spent his professional life in sales in the food industry. Lupe was employed during the advent of frozen foods by Bird’s Eye and spent over thirty years at Sweet Life Foods in Suffield, CT in the sales and marketing group. In addition to his parents, Lupe was predeceased by his first wife Phyllis (Campbell), RN and brother Howard. He leaves his wife Janice (Beauvais) of Cape Coral, brother Donald of Boise, ID and children Jay(Peggy) Luippold of Dallas, TX and Jan (Louis) Casa of South Hadley and stepchildren Michael (Clara) and Susan Syphrit of FL and Mark Flora of OH. He will be greatly missed by grandchildren Ross Luippold of New York, NY and Douglas Luippold of Dallas, TX. Lupe also leaves step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
