Obituary

Danville Rowan Brown passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 5th at Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis. He is survived by his devoted wife Liz and his children Anthony and Caroline of Provincetown, Nevaeh Condinho of Hyannis, and Kaedaneal Brown of New York.

Danville was born in St. Elizabeth Jamaica. He graduated from Black River High School. He began to travel to Provincetown when he was 17, first working at Bubalas Restaurant. It wasn’t long before he realized his natural hand and love for cooking. In 2012 he opened his own restaurant, One Love, cooking Jamaican specialties, which was met with rave reviews. Everyone loved Mr. Brown’s fried chicken! In 2017 Danville and his wife established Liz’s Cafe. He worked tirelessly as the breakfast chef and at Liz’s, One Love was “reborn”. The demand for his delicious food resulted in One Love‘s “rebirth” this summer at the Aquarium Mall. Danville also enjoyed success, for many years, as a house painter, starting his own entity DRB Painting. He continued to paint on the “side” but his commitment and dedication to the family business made “side” work challenging.

Everyone was Danville’s “friend”, his “Tuggy” his “Family”. There wasn’t anything that Danville wouldn’t do for someone. Danville had an infectious smile, unforgettable laughter, a gentle soul and a kind heart. He was a magnet that people were drawn to. His work ethic and willingness to help anyone at any time will not be forgotten.

Danville enjoyed music, loved a good time, was the life of any party with his dance moves, and had an unforgettable fashion style. He had a style that you couldn’t help but admire. He will always be remembered for his signature style of floral dress shirts, felt hats and his amazing cologne.

In addition to his wife and children, Danville is survived by his adoring mother Georgette Samuels and her husband Kingsley, his loving sister Tamesa Brooker and her husband Orlando all of Provincetown, his brothers Michael Fray, Sheldon Spence, Duken Brown and his wife Netty, and Kingsley Samuels. He also leaves a sister Natasha Brown of New York and a step brother Troy Samuels. He was the beloved Uncle to Sashanel, Amanda, Safara, Crystal, Shakira, Jamilah, Romario, Lemar, Krymeii, Christopher and Isaiah. He leaves many dear and loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was pre deceased by his father Lunville Brown.

His light and laughter have left this world and will be sorely missed by all that knew him.
