Obituary

Worcester – Betty A. (Brousseau) Elia, 86 of Worcester died on Thursday, August 6th in the Webster Manor Healthcare Facility after an extended illness.

Betty was married to the late George Elia and is survived by her children, George Elia of California, Deborah LaRose of Webster, MA, Bettyanne Elia of Worcester, MA and Linda Gagliastre of Webster, MA; 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

She was born in Worcester, daughter of Leo E. Brousseau and Dorothy M. (Reavey) Romkey and attended the former David Hale Fanning Girls Trade High School in Worcester. Betty worked for many years as a machinist at Imperial Machine Company and later went to work for Imperial Distributors until her retirement.

Betty always enjoyed doing things that kept her brain working, especially crossword puzzles, computer games and jigsaw puzzles. She would often be found watching her favorite shows on the Investigation Discovery Channel and taking day trips to her favorite casino; Mohegan Sun. Betty would always take great pleasure in a good game of bingo and when she was younger there were many days that she spent attending flea markets and yard sales to find a good bargain or a treasure.

Funeral services are being held privately and handled by Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond Street Worcester, MA.
