Debra Roberts Newsome, 67, of Ocilla, Georgia, died Monday, August 3, 2020, at Dorminy Medical Center in Fitzgerald, Georgia.
A visitation will be held 8:30 until 9:15 Thursday morning, August 13, 2020, at the funeral home in Ocilla. Private family graveside services will follow. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, all are encouraged to maintain social distancing as well as bring and wear a mask.
Mrs. Newsome was born January 07, 1953 in Irwin County, Georgia to the late Raymond and Iantha (Pete) Roberts. She was a graduate of Irwin County High School. Due to Mrs. Newsome’s limitations (Down Syndrome) she spent most of her life with her parents. Her last approximately 15-17 years of her life was in an assisted living home of which she dearly enjoyed. Her mother also spent her last years with her in the home.
Mrs. Newsome was preceded in death by her father and mother, Raymond and Iantha (Pete) Roberts, and her brother R. Carroll Roberts. She is survived by a brother Harold Roberts, wife Judy, and several nieces and nephews.
