Felicia Bayard Barber, 60, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Thursday, August 6, 2020, at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton, Georgia.
Memorial services will be held 10 AM, Saturday, August 8, 2020, at the Ocilla Church of God, in Ocilla, Georgia, with the Rev. Josh Bowles officiating.
Mrs. Barber was born June 26, 1960, in Fitzgerald, Georgia, to Darlene Williams Cox of Fitzgerald and the late Billy Smith, Sr. She lived in the community all of her life and was a 1978 graduate of Irwin County High School. Mrs. Barber worked in the banking industry and was an Administrative Assistant at Colony Bank of Fitzgerald. She also worked for Community Bank. She loved her grandkids and watching them play sports. She was an active member of the Ocilla Church of God where she loved to worship and served in the women’s ministry, was a youth leader, sang in the choir, and served as a greeter.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Mark Barber of Fitzgerald; children: Holly & Casey Conner of Ocilla and Heather Bayard of Dothan, Alabama along with their father, Pat Bayard of Irwinville; step-son, Cody Barber of Fitzgerald; grandchildren: Addison Conner, Avery Conner, Camren Blount, Tres Ellison, Londyn Ellison, Faith Barber and Kolton Barber; three brothers: Billy Smith, Jr. & Robin of St. Augustine, Florida, Jeffery Smith & Tracy of Wray, Ray Smith & Victoria of Palatka, Florida and a step-sister, Vonda Jones & Chris of Hawkinsville. Several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins also survive. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a sister, Tina Marie Smith and infant siblings: Teresa Smith and Charles Smith.
