Richard E. Lemieux, 63, of Burgate Street, Chepachet, died Monday, August 3, 2020.
Born in Providence, he is a son of Margaret “Ruth” (Cadorette) Lemieux of Chepachet and the late Russell R. Lemieux. He was a lifelong resident of Glocester.
He served in the US Marines.
He was known to everyone as Rick. He loved to work with his hands and be around family. He combined these two passions as a master mechanic at the family business, Inland Marine for 46 years. He also taught marine mechanics at MTTI in Seekonk during the winter months.
Rick was an enthusiastic individual who always had a smile on his face and couldn’t wait to share a story with you. Rick had a true passion for enjoying life, he loved music, dancing, being out on the water, the open road and spending time with his family and friends. Rick was extremely outgoing and loved people, he knew and met people everywhere he went. Once you met Rick , you were a friend for life.
Besides his mother, he is survived by his children: Geoffrey Lemieux of North Providence, Ashley Gonyea and her husband, Thomas of Chepachet, and Patrick “Pat” Healy and his fiancée, Stacy Patrick of Chepachet, his siblings: his twin brother, Russell Lemieux of Chepachet, Ross Lemieux and his wife, Jeannie of Chepachet and Randall Lemieux and his wife, Tina of Chepachet, his grandchildren: Keira Lemieux, Eliana Gonyea and Jameson Healy and a daughter-in-law, Carrie Lemieux of Chepachet. He was the father of the late Mark D. Lemieux.
Visitation will be held Friday 4-7pm at the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Rt 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Due to COVID restrictions please visit the family from your vehicle via virtual visitation. Funeral service and burial will be private. Please omit flowers.
