Jean-Louis Gaudreau, 79, passed away peacefully at home August 3, 2020. Born on June 10, 1941 in Montmagny, Quebec, son of the late Marius and Marie-Anne (Morin) Gaudreau. Jean-Louis moved to the US in 1965 bringing his expertise as a master craftsman to MA. He enjoyed a career for many years in the construction industry before retiring from C&S Suffield in 2007. He loved to build, create and problem-solve and could fix most anything when given the challenge. Jean-Louis was happiest being outdoors - gardening, beach trips and neighborhood walks were among his favorites. Woodworking was a passion and many of his projects will be cherished for years to come. He adored being Pepere to his five grandkids Ethan, Hayden, Melanie, April and Ella. Joining them in fun activities brought him joy whether it was swimming in the pool, jumping on a trampoline, reading silly stories or learning latest dance moves - they always brought a big smile to his face. Jean-Louis will be remembered for being a loving husband and father, his genuine kindness, friendly demeanor, strong sense of loyalty and appreciation for good conversation and a great cup of coffee. He is survived by his beloved wife and best friend of 52 years, Elizabeth (Lavallee) Gaudreau of Agawam, MA, 2 daughters Aline Dubiel and husband Robert of Colchester, CT, Joy Hurley and husband Andrew of Holyoke, MA. He also leaves a sister Denise Simoneau, husband Renald and niece Melanie, sister-in-law Pierrette Gaudreau, nephews Eric, Martin and niece Caroline, sister-in-law Marguerite Cooper, husband William, nephews Brian and Dan, sister-in-law Terry Fregeau, husband Michael, niece Michelle and nephew Mathew. He was pre-deceased by his daughter Francine Gaudreau in 1971 and brother Gilbert Gaudreau in 2019. Arrangements have been entrusted to Grise Funeral Home in Chicopee, MA. Due to the current health crisis, a private memorial service will be by invitation at a later date.
