Anna V. (Ramos) Barrett, 77, of New Bedford died February 25, 2006 at St. Luke's Hospital after a long illness.
She was the wife of the late Paul N. Barrett.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Carlos and Virginia (Freitas-Costa) Ramos, she lived in New Bedford all of her life.
Mrs. Barrett was a founding member, first church secretary and former soloist of the International Church of the Nazarene.
She was formerly employed as a nurses aide in the pediatrics ward at St. Luke's Hospital for many years until her retirement.
Mrs. Barrett was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed gardening.
Survivors include 4 sons, Paul Barrett, Jr., Steven Barrett, Douglas Barrett and Eli Barrett, all of New Bedford; 5 daughters, Diane Duarte-Barros, Virginia "Ginger" Barrett, Mary "Penny" Barrett, Deborah Barrett Gilmette and Leah Barrett, all of New Bedford; 3 brothers, Antone Ramos and Albert Ramos, both of New Bedford and William "Billy" Ramos of San Francisco; a sister, Theresa Souto of New Bedford; 25 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-granddaughter; many nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late David Barrett, Bruce Barrett and Timothy Barrett.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Service at the International Church of the Nazarene Wednesday, March 1st at 10 AM, followed by burial in Rural Cemetery.
Visiting hours at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford Tuesday, February 28th from 4-8 PM.
