Obituary

Richard V. “Dick” Preziosi, age 87, of Woburn, formerly of Winchester, Medford and Plymouth, passed away on July 30, 2020. He was the beloved husband for 56 years of Shirley M. (Whyte) Preziosi.

Born in Somerville, Mr. Preziosi was the son of the late Vincenzo and Angelina (Ciampi) Preziosi. He was raised and educated in Medford, and was a graduate of Medford High School. He served in the U.S. Army after high school. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service as a letter carrier out of East Boston for many years until his retirement.

In his spare time Richard enjoyed his garden, cooking, animals and Hershey bars with almonds.
He was a self-taught “jack-of-all-trades” when it came to building and house renovations. He took pride, and worked very hard on all his homes.

His children remember how he especially loved to cook for people, and teach people how to do it themselves. Please know that “if he cooked for you, he loved you.”

In addition to his wife, Shirley, Mr. Preziosi is survived by his children: Gina Preziosi of Stoneham, Richard Preziosi, Jr. and wife Judy of Nashua, NH. He was also the dear brother of Dolores Conway of Medford, Angelina Vitale of Wellfleet, Anna Caputo of Medford, and the late Rosina Rappoli, Margaret, Marie, Rudy, Louis and Anthony Preziosi, and is further survived by many nieces and nephews. Graveside Services at Holy Cross Cemetery will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to The Animal Rescue League of Boston www.arlboston.org or local wildlife rehab center https://newhousewildliferescue.org.
