Obituary

CHICOPEE – Lorraine A. (Weaver) Cote, 90, a former resident of Edward Street in the Aldenville section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Monday, July 27, 2020. She passed into Eternal Life at home surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born at home on Edward Street in Chicopee on January 25, 1930, the beloved daughter of the late Louis F. and Helen R. (Chretien) Weaver. She was raised in Chicopee, attended Chicopee schools and had lived in Granby for many years before returning to Aldenville in 1984. She was employed as an Executive Housekeeper at the Comfort Inn in Chicopee for many years. She was a communicant of Sainte Rose de Lima Church and a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Moose Family Center, all in Chicopee. During her leisure time, she enjoyed spending time tending to her flower gardens. Above all, she loved spending time with her family and friends. She leaves her two loving children, Kenneth G. Cote and his wife, Linda, and Michele M. McKenna and her husband, Michael, all of Chicopee; her nine cherished grandchildren, Angela Venancio and her husband, Ilidio, Kimberly Pellegrini, Allan Cote and his fiancée, Shannon Towsley, Todd Cote, Amanda Silva and her husband, Joseph, Brian Cote and his wife, Lonneke, Joshua McKenna and his wife, Alyssa, Cory McKenna and his fiancée, Megan Samson and Brandon McKenna; her cherished 14 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family members and friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her two loving sons, Allan W. Cote who was Called Home on January 3, 2010 and Theodore P. “Ted” Cote who was Called Home on May 2, 2018; her dear brother and sister-in-law, George Weaver and his wife, Theresa; and her former husband, Wilfred T. Cote. Her family will receive friends on Thursday, July 30, 2020 from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. followed by a 10:30 a.m. Prayer Service at the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. The parking lot and main entrance are located in the rear of the funeral home at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (Please note that masks are required, social distancing must be observed and funeral home capacity is limited to 40% due to state regulations). Her Burial will follow the Prayer Service at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
