Obituary

Jaime Luis Vega Camacho, 81, of Worcester formerly of Puerto Rico died Wednesday, July 15th in UMASS Memorial Medical Center – Memorial Campus. He leaves his wife of 60 years, Ramona Torres; four children, Rosa I. Vega of New York, Elaine M. Vega and Rose Mary Vega both of Puerto Rico and Many Ann Sanchez of Shrewsbury; four brothers, Hector, Rosendo, and Evelio all of Puerto Rico and Louis Hermando of Pennsylvania; 11 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and extended family. He was predeceased by a son, James Louis Vega and a brother, Ruben.
He was born in Yauco, Puerto Rico the son of Serafin Vega and Rosa Camacho and moved to Worcester with his wife in 2018 after Hurricane Maria. While in Puerto Rico, Jaime owned and operated a local grocery store. He enjoyed looking for deals at the local estate and yard sales. Music and hunting were a passion of his. He was known for his great sense of humor and jokes.
The family extends an invitation for you to join them for 9 nights (Saturday, July 25th until Sunday, August 2nd ) at 6:00 PM in the home of Jaime and Ramona, 1060 Main Street, #211, Worcester to recite the rosary. O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue is assisting the family with arrangements.
