Hulin L. Reeves, Sr., 89, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Thursday, July 23, 2020, at Pruitt Health in Ocilla.
Graveside services will be held 10 AM, Sunday, July 26, 2020, at Irwinville Cemetery in Irwinville, with the Rev. Charlie Solomon officiating.
Mr. Reeves was born January 15, 1931, in Ben Hill County, Georgia, to the late Howard L. & Millie L. Tomberlin Reeves. He served his country honorably in the United States Navy. He was a farmer for 30 years and a cattleman for Dorminy Brothers Land & Cattle. He drove a truck for W.A. Reeves Trucking, Inc. and also served as president of Fitzgerald Stockyards. Mr. Reeves enjoyed riding motorcycles, camping, roping cattle, and playing checkers. He was a member of Irwinville Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of over 70 years, Edna Marchetti Reeves of Fitzgerald; children and their spouses: Junior & Brenda Reeves, Dianne & Danny Woods, and Eddy & Miriam Reeves, all of Fitzgerald; grandchildren: Melinda & Max Immelman, Dan Reeves, and Ross & Anna Joy Reeves; step-grandson, Britton Robitzsch; great-grandchildren: Isabella Immelman, Olivia Immelman, Hallie Kate Reeves, and Lindy Mae Reeves; a sister, Carolyn King of Tifton; a sister-in-law, Mazie Reeves of Irwinville; as well as several nieces and nephews. His caregiver, Louise MacDonald, also survives. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Joy Reeves; and two brothers: Bobby Reeves and W.A. Reeves.
