Thomas (Tommy) R. Rapoza, age 66 of Brockton MA, passed away on Friday, July 17th after a six-year battle with Alzheimer’s. Tommy retired working from the VA Hospital in Brockton, and in his early career he worked for many years at the Washburn Candy factory in Brockton. Tom loved to play basketball and spending his time outdoors.
Tommy was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Rapoza, his parents, Manuel and Methyl Rapoza, and four of his siblings, Edna Burr, Methyl Cardoza, Sheila Byron and John Rapoza. Tommy leaves behind his only child, his beloved daughter April Rapoza of Brockton, his granddaughter Arianna of Maine, and his girlfriend of many years Evelyn (Lennie) Hartweg, of Brockton. Tommy also leaves his sister, Beverly Gento of Palm Bay, FL, his brother, Charles Rapoza and his wife Kimberly of Brockton, MA and Venice, FL, his sister Patricia Williams, and her husband Tom, of Palm Bay, FL. and his brother in law, John Cardoza of Taunton. Tommy also leaves many nieces, nephews, and numerous friends.
