LOWELL—Alice Dorothy (Davis) Doole, 82 years old, a longtime resident of Lowell, died Wednesday, February 22nd, at the Lowell General Hospital. She was the wife of the late Josiah ‘Jesse’ Doole, who died in 1990.
She was born in Georgia, a daughter of the late William and Alice (Lalime) Davis, and was educated in the Lowell Public School System.
For many years, Mrs. Doole worked as an Administrative Secretary for Wang Labs. She was a longtime member of Saint Anne’s Episcopal Church, in Lowell, and was a member of the Vestry Committee, and teacher and treasurer of the Sunday School Program at St. Anne’s.
Surviving her are a son: Josiah ‘Jay’ Doole, Jr., and Bonnie Gary, of Lowell; three grandsons: Jason John Doole, Jesse Joseph Doole, and John James Doole, and their mother: Ann (Machado) Doole; two granddaughters: Lindsay Ann Doole and Grace Leigh Doole, all of Lowell; two brothers: William Davis, of Wadsworth, OH; and Donald Davis, of Moss Point, MS; two sisters-in-law: Mrs. Ralph (Mary) Bennett, of Tewksbury; and Mrs. James (Ellen) Blackwell, of Dracut; also several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 PM on Monday, February 27th at the MAHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 187 Nesmith St. (Rte. 38). Her Funeral Service to be held Tuesday, February 28th, at 10 AM at ST. JOHN’S EPISCOPAL CHURCH, Lowell. Burial in the Westlawn Cemetery, Lowell.
