Obituary

Madeleine “Maddy” B. (Duval) LeBlanc, 77, died February 7, 2006 at Tidewell Hospice of Southwest Florida in Ellenton, FL after a long courageous battle with lung cancer.

She was born September 12, 1928, in Manchester, to Omer and Claudia (Dextras) Duval. She was educated in the Manchester school system. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Manchester and Ss Peter & Paul the Apostles in Bradenton, FL.

Mrs. LeBlanc was a Cub Scout den mother for Troop 135 when her boys were young. She was also a member of the NH Junior Women’s Club for many years, an active non-member of the Pinardville Lions Club for over 30 years, a member of the Granite State Grasshoppers and Plausawa Valley County Club (PVCC) in Pembroke.
She had worked for JF McElwain Shoe Co., was a nurse’s assistant at LeBlanc’s Nursing Home for many years, and was head banquet waitress for over 25 years for Talbot Caterers.

She loved golf, bowling, dancing, dice, card games especially cribbage, cooking, entertaining in her home and spending time with family and friends. She especially loved being called “memere” by her grandchildren. She enjoyed her home and always welcomed company. Everyone loved her cooking especially her apple pies and pinwheels. She embraced living and always looked at the bright side of life. Her outlook, her inner strength, and all that delighted her touched many lives. Her quick wit always made you laugh. Her connections with family and friends enriched you for having known her. During her illness, she never complained or gave up and fought her illness with courage, faith, strength, and the will to win the battle and live life to its fullest to the end. She was an amazing woman to all who knew her and touched everyone who met her with love. She was an inspiration to all and taught us all the value of love and courage.

Family members include her husband of 57 years, Emile LeBlanc of Bradenton, FL; one daughter, Dolores C. LeBlanc of Goffstown; three sons, Richard E. LeBlanc (Lori) of Bedford, Marc L. LeBlanc (Annemarie) of Bedford, Gary R. LeBlanc (Tracy) of Newmarket; seven grandchildren; two surviving sisters, Lucille Vigneault of Manchester, and Constance Demers of Manchester; one brother, Leonard Duval of Bradenton, FL; many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 25, at 11:30am, at Ss Peter and Paul the Apostles Church in Bradenton, FL. Brown and Sons Funeral Homes & Crematory are in charge of the Florida arrangements. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 20th at 10am at Sacred Heart Church in Manchester, NH
