Obituary

Phillip E. Palmer, 79, of Tiverton, RI passed away, Sunday, July 12, 2020 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Ann E. (Bumpus) Palmer, they were married for 58 years.

Born in Boston, son of the late William M. and Ruth (Garnett) Palmer, he had lived in Tiverton for the last 5 years prior to living in Arizona for 15 years. A United States Navy veteran, he served his country during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Prior to retirement, he was a rehabilitation counselor at the former Good Hope in W. Greenwich, RI and had also worked at Electric Boat in Quonset Point in RI and in Groton, CT. Mr. Palmer was a member of the King's Grant Fellowship, Portsmouth, RI and also a member of the Tiverton Rod and Gun Club. He was an avid reader. Mr. Palmer was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.

Including his wife, survivors include 3 sons: Phillip E. Palmer, Jr. and his wife Anna of Hope Valley, RI, Scott A. Palmer and his wife Shelley of Coventry, RI and Stephen M. Palmer and his wife Diane of W. Greenwich, RI; 9 grandchildren: Capria Faucher, Jonathan Papagni, Tyler Papagni, Scott G. Palmer, Stephen M. Palmer, Jr., Karisa Palmer, Janie Rettinger, Laura Palmer and Hannah Palmer; 3 great grandchildren: Aiden Palmer, Grady Faucher and Cameron David; and several nieces and nephews.

He was brother of the late William Palmer, Jr. and Marshall Palmer.

Memorial Service to which relatives and friends are invited will be Saturday, July 25, 2020 at King's Grant Fellowship, 1000 West Main Road, Porstmouth, RI 02871 at 10:30 A.M.

Interment will be private.
