Obituary

PORTLAND- Angel Lee Eggen age 49, passed away on July 9, 2020 surrounded by loved ones.
Angel was born in Belfast Maine on April 17, 1971 the daughter of Richard Eggen and Cynthia Billings (Sukeforth). She was raised in Liberty and moved to Portland in her twenties.
Angel graduated from Mt. View High School and received her associate degree in Nursing from SMCC.
Angel worked for many years as a registered nurse doing what she loved most, caring for people. When the time came to focus on her own health, she had to unfortunately leave her homecare position at Amedisys. Her goodwill and determination did not let this stop her from caring for people in a more holistic way. With passion, she used her essential oils, Reiki, and Yoga Nidra certifications to act as a wellness advocate for the community around her.
In 2011 she met her soulmate ‘Mr. Brown’, and she said to him, you’re a walking contradiction but I’m going to have to take a chance on you. From then on they were practically inseparable, and on March 21, 2020 she married her best friend of nine years, Andy Brown.
Out in nature is where you could always find Angel. Whether it be hiking her favorite New Hampshire mountains, camping, dipping in Marshals shores, or helping her gardens flourish. Any chance she had, she would have a knitting needle in her hand and family surrounding the table.
She would declare, “I am not fighting cancer, I know it will win in the end”. With that, she also made it known that cancer “will not limit me and stop me from doing what I want, when I want”. These are words that she stood by, right until her final days.
She was pre-deceased by her grandparents, Arvid and Gertrude Eggen, her father Richard Eggen and her brother Calvin Eggen.
Angel is survived by her beloved husband Andy Brown; her mother Cynthia Billings, her daughters- Devon Eggen and her partner Briana Roberts, Kendra Eggen and her partner Branden Galloway, her son Dylan Cleaves and his wife Nicole Cleaves. Her sister Amy Eggen; her nieces Brooke Miller, Sabrina Miller, and nephews Trevor Miller, and Nickolas Eggen that she cared for as her own. Her grandchildren Kali, Brady, and Lennox. Her cousin Tammy, who was more like a sister, as well as other hearty cousins. Her in laws Carol and Paul Morgan, her sisters-in-law Jill and Pam, and brother-in-law Rob.
Although her physical presence has left this earth, her soul and all that it encompassed will forever leave a lasting impact on each and every person she encountered.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday July 19 at 4 PM at the Chad E. Poitras Cremation and Funeral Service Chapel, 498 Long Plains Road (Rt. 22) in Buxton. Please be mindful of State reopening restrictions and distancing
