TEWKSBURY – Carl George Patterson, age 67, a certified Waste Water Technician, died unexpectedly at Lowell General Hospital, Tuesday evening, July 7, after a brief illness. He was the beloved husband and best friend of Nancy M. (Venezia) Patterson, with whom he would have celebrated a forty-second wedding anniversary on August 26.
He was born in Waltham, one of six children of the late George Carl and Anna M. (Manning) Patterson, and lived in Waltham until his family moved to Tewksbury in 1961. He attended Tewksbury schools, and was a member of Tewksbury Memorial High School’s Class of 1971. He began his career as a Waste-Water Mechanic at Olin Chemical Company in Wilmington, and retired from Analog Devices as a Level 4 Waste-Water Mechanic. He had worked most recently at Straumann in Andover.
Carl was a collector of fine watches, loved playing golf, photography, was a member of the Tewksbury Rod and Gun Club, and loved his family dogs.
Besides his wife, he leaves a daughter, Riane E. Patterson of Pittsburgh, PA; a son, Eric M. Patterson and Jessica L. Herbert of Tacoma, WA; three sisters, Audrey Nicolas and her husband Pat of South Yarmouth, MA, Lorraine Whynaught of Tewksbury, Christine Patterson of Tewksbury; sisters-in-law, Patricia Venezia of Tewksbury, Katherine Craig and her husband Henry of KS, Elaine Venezia of Braintree, MA; many nieces and nephews; and was predeceased by his sisters, June Giordano and Carlene Vona.
With strict adherence to Covid-19 distancing and personal precautions; Memorial Visiting Hours Tuesday, July 14, from 5:00 until 7:00 in the Tewksbury Funeral Home, corner of 1 Dewey and 975 Main Sts. (Rte. 38) TEWKSBURY CENTER, Ph. (800 in MA or 978) 851 2950. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Wednesday July 15, at 11:30 a.m. in St. William’s Church, 1351 Main St. (Rte. 38) Tewksbury.
