Lal Singh, 77

Dateline: Mansfield, MA

Lal Singh, age 77, of Mansfield, passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at the Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston. He was the beloved husband of Satwant Kaur, to whom he was wed for the past fifty-six years.

Born in the Simbli Village of Punjab, India on April 16, 1943. He was a loving son of the late Jaimal Singh and Mahan Kaur.

Lal grew up and was educated in India. While living in India, he worked as a bookkeeper and was very proud to be the first person to build a radio in his town. He moved to the United States in 1997, first settling in Newport, RI. He later moved to Cranston for a brief time and later to Mansfield where he has resided for over sixteen years.

Mr. Singh enjoyed helping his son at his convenience store and was an active member of the Sikh Community Temple in Westborough. He loved spending time with his adoring family, fixing anything in general and will always be remembered as a mild-mannered person.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his devoted children: Gurdip Singh and his Gurpreet of Mansfield, Kulwinder Kaur and her husband Manjit Singh of New York and Ranjit Singh and his wife Rajvinder Kaur of Pennsylvania. He was the cherished grandfather of Simran, Jasdip, Mehr. Tanvir, Jaskeert and Ishmeet. He was pre-deceased by his 3 dear sisters.

A private Sikh religious service will be held on Saturday, July 11th at the North Purchase Crematory in Attleboro. Visiting hours have been omitted.
