CHICOPEE – Lynn M. (Hamel) Steele, 58, of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Sunday, July 5, 2020. She passed into Eternal Life at Mercy Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by all the memories of her loving family. She was born in Springfield on January 8, 1962, a beloved daughter of the late Donald G. and Margo-Ann (LaRochelle) Hamel. She was raised and educated in Holyoke and had furthered her education, receiving an Associate’s Degree from Springfield Technical Community College. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend who loved spending time with her family and her many friends. She was a communicant of Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Chicopee. She leaves her beloved husband, Barry S. Steele. They were married in Springfield on December 30, 1982 and were blessed with over 37 years of happiness together. She also leaves her loving daughter, Molly Steele of Chicopee; her two dear brothers, Mark Hamel and his wife, Therese, and Gregory Hamel, all of Chicopee; her two cherished nieces, Emily Johnson of Feeding Hills and Abigail Hamel of Chicopee; and her many dear extended family members and friends. Her relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday morning, July 25, 2020 at 11 a.m. in Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her Inurnment will be private at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery in Agawam.
