Margaret L. "Peggy" (Ryan) Tweedie, 64, of New Bedford died February 23, 2006 at Brandon Woods of Dartmouth after a brief illness.
She was the former wife of Robert B. Tweedie of Mattapoisett.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Dr. James and Helen (Toomey) Ryan, she lived in New Bedford all of her life.
Mrs. Tweedie was a communicant of St. Lawrence Church.
She was a graduate of Holy Family High School, class of 1959 and later attended Salve Regina College.
Mrs. Tweedie enjoyed summering with her family at Pico Beach and Crescent Beach in Mattapoisett and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her former husband; a son, Robert B. Tweedie, Jr., and his fiancée Jennifer Murray, of Naples, FL; a daughter, Maura A. Marshalek, and her husband Stephen, of Dartmouth; 2 brothers, Thomas B. Ryan, and his wife Joan, of New Bedford and Denis Ryan, and his wife Frances, of Dartmouth; a sister, Mary Franklin, and her husband Lewis, of Mattapoisett and Bradenton, FL; 3 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford Tuesday, February 28th at 9 AM. Funeral Mass at St. Lawrence Church at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Visiting hours Monday, February 27th from 4-7 PM.
Interment St. Mary's Cemetery.
