Obituary
Julia L. Thatcher died Wednesday evening at Tufts New England Medical Center, Boston, after a lengthy illness. Born and raised in Wareham, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Candida (Rose) Alves. She had been a longtime resident of Brockton, and enjoyed reading, knitting and babysitting her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years Raymond J. Thatcher, one daughter Lorraine J. Fowler of Brockton, seven grandchildren Robert, Tina, Julia and Nicole Fowler, Richard and Terrence Blea and Raymond Thatcher, 17 great grandchildren, two sisters Margaret Faria of Hyannis and Mary Alves of Brockton, and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was the mother of the late Terrence L. Thatcher and sister of the late Amelia Pina and Alfred Alves.
