Caroline Avis (Dodge) Dunham, 81, of Duxbury, MA passed away peacefully on July 4th surrounded by her loving husband, Buzz, of 59 years and their children.
She was born January 5, 1939, was a 1956 graduate of Abington High School, and remained in Abington for many years where she raised her family.
She was a Cosmetologist and spent many years as a Christian educator at the First Congregational Church of Rockland, MA, and as a volunteer at the Abington VNA.
Caroline lived her life for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was kind, giving, sweet, compassionate and selfless in all she did. She loved painting, knitting, walking the beach, collecting sea glass and drinking tea with whoever needed a caring ear or someone to lean on.
As the matriarch of her family, she provided loving support to all who knew her and coordinated many gatherings of family and friends. Having amazing love, grace, and strength, she danced her way through every facet of her life and touched the lives of so many.
She is survived by her beloved husband Buzz and loving children, Robert and Mary Dunham of Whitman, Cathy and Robert Juliano of Reading, Nancy Cobb of Duxbury, James Dunham and Marcy Mason of Raleigh, NC, and youngest son Dana Dunham and Lindsay Marzulla of New Bedford, MA. Nana will be greatly missed by her seven grandchildren, Bobby Jr., Jeanna (pre-deceased), Lindsey, Angela, Natalie, Madison, and Monica, three great grandchildren, Marky, Jackie, and Bobby III. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are cordially invited to visitation on Thursday, July 9th, 4pm – 6pm at Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth St. (Rte. 58 at the rotary Circle) Whitman, MA. A socially distanced graveside service will be held on Friday, July 10th at 11:00 am at Mount Vernon Cemetery, Abington, beginning with a procession which will leave Blanchard Funeral Chapel at 10:30 am.
