Nancy Elizabeth “Sis” White, 93, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Friday, July 3, 2020, at Legacy Village in Moultrie, Georgia.
Graveside services will be held 1 PM, Sunday, July 5, 2020 at Evergreen Cemetery in Fitzgerald, Georgia, with the Rev. Dr. Lloyd Stembridge officiating.
Ms. White was born May 14, 1927, in Ben Hill County, Georgia, to the late Joseph & Susie Cooper Howell. She was a homemaker and loved flowers, gardening, and fishing. Ms. White was a cashier for the Colonial Store and worked in sales for the Allied Department Store. She was a very active member of Arbor Baptist Church where she was also a Sunday School teacher and WMU director.
She is survived by her children: Sandra Alexander of Cordele, Jan & Grady Davis of Moultrie, and Dana & Betty Ashurst of Fitzgerald; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren and a sister, Katie Cone of Hobe Sound, Florida. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Morris Ashurst; a son-in-law, Billy Alexander; one brother, Bud Howell; three sisters: Dorothy Troup, Christine Fambro and Margie Wilson.
