Obituary

Damian Joseph Silva, 20, of Wellfleet, unexpectedly passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2020. He was the son of Cassandra Silva and the older brother of Raina Walters, both of Wellfleet.

Born in Barnstable, Damian attended Eastham Elementary School and graduated from Nauset Regional High School. He was pursuing online accredited college courses in areas of his interest, dealing with anatomy and the functioning of the brain. He was often found reading and furthering his knowledge of neuroscience and metaphysics.

Damian was the creator and founder of a nonprofit organization called WorldSuckObliderationCorporation. All profits made were sent to the vlog brothers, John and Hank Green, to help provide underprivileged children with computers. Sales were made through “love is love” bracelets. Damian’s current job was at Stop and Shop in Orleans, where most have fond memories of his thoughtful conversations.

Those that knew Damian were able to get an indication of his giving and kind ways. Though he was soft spoken, he had a great sense of humor, love of music, and was incredibly knowledgeable. He was selfless and compassionate, respectful, a very dedicated and hard worker. As thoughtful as he was, he had the ability to balance sarcasm and mystery.

Music was a comfort to Damian. He was an old soul and fondly listened to Cat Stevens, The Lumineers, Blind Melon and the Shins. He enjoyed the simplest of moments such as listening and softly singing to music with his sister and pet bunny Winnie.

In addition to his mother and sister, he is survived by his grandmothers Kelly Holway- Ruml, Carole DeStefano, and great grandmother Marguerite Holway. He also leaves his uncles; Brandon Silva, Timothy Silva, Jeremy Storer, Zachary Storer, Ian Ruml, and aunts Carly Souza, Kiah Ruml, and Annie Storer. He is also survived by many more extended cousins, as well as aunts and uncles. He was predeceased by his grandfathers Timothy Charles Silva and Russell Holway.

Due to the current health crisis of Covid19 the immediate family will gather for a private Celebration of Damian’s Life. Arrangements for a service for Damian will be postponed until it is deemed safe, at a time and date to be announced.
