Obituary

Wayne Patrick Connors, 72, went to be with the Lord Saturday afternoon on March 28, 2020.

Born on September 21,1947 in Brockton, MA, son of the late Daniel F. and Mary (Doherty) Connors, and brother to the late Barry Connors. He is survived by his two daughters Theresa Wilcken, Julie Connors, his brother Daniel Connors Jr. and his former wife and lifelong friend Brenda Connors.

Wayne was a Vietnam Veteran who honorably served as an aircraft mechanic in the United States Air Force for 20 years. He was very proud of his time in the service and would fondly tell stories of his adventures and accommodations he received. One of his proudest moments while serving was when “Crew Chief W P Connors” was painted on U.S. Air Force plane 051.

While both serving in Florida he met Brenda Rall who became his wife in 1976. They enjoyed many family outings such as camping, boating, and water skiing. After retiring from the Air Force he proudly opened his own business called “Wayne’s Refrigeration and Appliance Repair”. He enjoyed working with his hands and would often be found in his garage making new tools. Every morning for the last few years he would go enjoy coffee, laughs and memories with his “Browns Point Coffee” group where he made lifelong friends.

Special thanks to the 6th South team of Madigan who became family after Wayne spent several months there. During this time, he kept a positive attitude and entertained all who came to his room with his wonderful sense of humor. Nurses would even come to spend time with him on their breaks and days off. Father Ramos, also, was an integral part of the Madigan team to give support and comfort to Wayne and family until the very end.

With assistance from Hospice, Wayne was able to spend his last few days in the home he loved with his family by his side. He will greatly be missed by his grandchildren Michael Connors, Kayla, Serenity and Payton Boswell, Jacob Levitt and Kaia Wilcken, his great grandchild Kekoa Scanlan and his many nieces and nephews.
Wayne was a friend to all. He had an infectious smile and great sense of humor that brought so much laughter. We will all miss these wonderful times but will forever hold these memories in our hearts.

He donated to St Jude’s and Amvet the family would appreciate donations to these organization in lieu of flowers.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Edith Stein Catholic Church in Brockton, MA on Friday July 3, 2020 at 9 am followed by burial in Calvary Cemetery with military honors.
