Juan Alvarez, Sr., 59, of Tifton passed away Sunday, June 28, 2020, at Tift Regional Medical Center. A graveside funeral service will be held for Mr. Alvarez at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 30, 2020, at Tift Memorial Gardens, where he will be laid to rest. Father Peter Oyengba will officiate.
Juan Balderas, Orlando Vega, Andres Alvarez, Edgar Vega, Cecilio Alvarez and Luis Rodriguez will serve as pallbearers.
Born May 4, 1961 in Hidalgo, Mexico, Mr. Alvarez was the son of the late Andres Alvarez and Cecilia Rodriguez Alvarez. He had worked at Wendell Roberson Farms in Tifton for over thirty years.
Mr. Alvarez is survived by his wife, Marcela Alvarez of Tifton; four sons, Juan Alvarez, Jr. of Virginia, Miguel Alvarez, Jose Alvarez and Fernando Alvarez, all of Tifton; two daughters, Cecilia Alvarez and Gloria Alvarez, both of Virginia; two brothers, Cecilio Alvarez and Pablo Alvarez; four sisters, Gloria Alvarez, Marina Alvarez, Salome Alvarez and Tomasa Alvarez; and six grandchildren, Ayden Alvarez, Noah Alvarez, Ceasar Alvarez, Sergio Alvarez, Araceli Alvarez and Ximena Alvarez.
