Auta R. (Ramos) DaLomba, 99, of New Bedford died Tuesday, February 21, 2006 at Sacred Heart Home after a long illness. She was the wife of the late Manuel DaLomba.
Born in Brava, Cape Verde, the daughter of the late John and Carlota (Teixeira) Ramos, she lived in New Bedford since 1952.
She was a member of the International Church of the Nazarene.
Mrs. DaLomba was formerly employed as a stitcher in local textile mills until her retirement.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary Azevedo and her husband Rafael of New Bedford; a son, Jose DaLomba and his wife Zenaide of Dorchester; 15 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late John DaLomba and the sister of the late Maria I. Barboza, Constance Silva, and Manuel Ramos.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Friday February 24, 2006 at 10 AM in the International Church of the Nazarene, 284 Pleasant St., New Bedford. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. Visiting hours will be at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford Thursday February 23, 2006 from 5-8 PM.
