SOMERSET - Arthur “The Baker” Ferreira, age 78, residence 124 Rice Ave. Somerset, died Wednesday in Somerset at home with his family by his side. He was the former Husband of the late Lorraine V. Ferreira Holewiak. He is survived by 1 Son: Arthur Ferreira Jr. of Swansea, 4 Daughters: Judith Ann Duffy of Rehoboth, M. Christine Vargas of Somerset, Cathleen M. Paulson of Somerset, and Jacqueline Ferreira-Dumas of Somerset, 1 Brother: Julio Ferreira of Swansea, 2 Sisters: Rosalina Martin of California and Mary Olivo of Somerset, 11 Grandchildren and 1 Great-granddaughter, Several Nieces and Nephews, and a Good Friend: Ronald Arruda. He was the father of the late Esther Lorraine Kost and the brother of the late Manuel Ferreira and Minda Boucher.

Born in Fall River, MA, the son of the late Joseph Ferreira and the late Esther (Medeiros) Ferreira. He was a lifelong resident of Somerset. Prior to retiring in 1976, he was the Owner & Operator of the former Hope Street Bakery in Fall River. He was a member of St. John of God Church and past member of the Fall River Sportsman’s Club, Blue Water Anglers, and the Coachman Cranberries Camping Club.

His Funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home 1521 North Main Street on Friday at 9:00 A.M. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. John of God Church, Brayton Ave. Somerset, at 10:00 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery, Fall River. Calling Hours Thursday 4:00 – 8:00 P.M.
