New Bedford – John S. Reis, age 77, of New Bedford passed away on Friday, June 19, 2020 at the Eliot Center for Health and Rehabilitation. Born in Waterbury, CT he was the beloved son of the late John Reis and Amelia (Spencer) Correia and beloved step-son of the late Joseph George Correia.
John had been a veteran of the U.S. Army and served for many years. He later went on to drive a truck for Yellowbird Trucking Company.
John is survived by his sister, Nadeen M. Correia-Gomes; his good friends, Marcelino Almeida and Lucia Fernandes; 4 nephews, Andre Gomes, Marcus A. Gomes, Carlos J. Vieira and Mark Pina. He was also the brother of the late Anthony J. Reis, Laura Vieira and Violetta Reis.
John’s funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at Perry Funeral Home. His visiting hours will be held from 11:00 A.M. 12:00 P.M. with a service to take place at 12:00 P.M. Burial will immediately follow at 1:45 P.M. in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
