Obituary

WESTPORT… Alfred J. Herman, 87, of Westport passed away Sunday, June 21, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family.
He was the loving husband of Elsie A. (Peixinho) Herman to whom he had been married for 57 years.
Born in Fall River, he was the son of the late Alfred J. and Hallie (Osborne) Herman.
Mr. Herman was a veteran of the United States Army National Guard, attaining the rank of Corporal while serving during the Korean Conflict. He was the Manager of the former Salvo Potato Chips as well as a Maintenance Man for Duro Manufacturing. He was an avid animal lover who enjoyed boating, fishing and spending time with his family.

Along with his wife, survivors include his son: Alfred J. Herman, Jr. of New York, his loving niece and caregiver: Linda M. Stevens of Dartmouth; his brother: Robert Herman of Dartmouth; his daughter: Paula Resendes of Somerset; several other nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Alan V. Herman and brother of the late Mary Cinquini, David Herman, Sr. and Leo Conroy, and his step-sister: the late Cathy Duclos of Freetown.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of Steward Hospice of Fall River for the care and assistance they received.

Graveside service to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Thursday, June 25, 2020 at 10 AM at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, 2233 Robeson St. Fall River, MA 02720. Arrangements are entrusted to South Coast Funeral Home, 1555 Pleasant St. Fall River, MA 02723.
