Marvin Jackson “Jackie” Blanchard, 67, of Ocilla passed away Thursday, June 18, 2020, at Rehabilitation Center of South Georgia in Tifton. His funeral service will be held on Monday, June 22, 2020 in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Phillip Brown officiating. Mr. Blanchard will be laid to rest at Pineview Holiness Baptist Church Cemetery.
Phillip Boyd, Hector Castro Jr., Larry Boyd, Cody Abbott, Pedro Gomez and Travis Walker will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Blanchard, Jessie Harper, Miguel Castro and Garron Webb.
Born August 31, 1952 in Tifton, Mr. Blanchard was the son of the late Rev. Daulton Jackson Blanchard Jr. and Ruthie Mae Revels Blanchard. He was a member of Midway Church of God and he served in the National Guard.
Mr. Blanchard is survived by one son, Christopher Jackson Blanchard and his wife Megan of Tifton; one daughter, Jennifer Castro and her husband, Hector Castro, Sr. of Moultrie; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Bobby and Elaine Blanchard, Tony and Diane Blanchard, Jimmy Lee and Bobbie Blanchard; one sister, Susan Abbott; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
