Dartmouth – Roy Stephen “Steve” DeMello, age 73, of Dartmouth passed away on Monday, June 15, 2020 at his home. Born on July 25, 1946 in New Bedford, MA, he was the beloved son of Joseph and Mary (Pacheco) DeMello.
Roy had been a fisherman for many years and later quahogged for a few more years. He had also been a drummer in the band, Voyage for many years along with his cousin Wayne.
Roy is survived by his former wife, Pauline DeMello; his children, Lyn DeMello, Kelli DeMello, Sandra Rebello, Carolyn DeMello, Christine DeMello, Jill DeMello Perez and Matthew DeMello, who Roy lived with and was cared for by; as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was also the father of the late Stephen DeMello.
Roy’s visiting hours will take place on Thursday, June 18, 2020 at Perry Funeral Home from 4:00 P.M. -6:00 P.M. All attendees are required by current mandated restrictions to wear a face covering and to practice social distancing of 6 feet. Attendance will be limited in order to meet the mandated capacity restrictions. Burial will be private.
