Obituary

MANCHESTER, CT – Alkmini (Marangoudakis) Peroulakis, 98, of Manchester, CT, passed away peacefully at Hartford Hospital in Hartford, CT on Tuesday, June 9, 2020. She was born in Chicopee, MA on November 20, 1921, a beloved daughter of the late Stamatios and Dionisia (Klinakis) Marangoudakis. At a young age, her mother and siblings returned to Skines, Crete, Greece where she was raised. She returned to Springfield, MA in 1955 where she lived until her retirement as a sewing machine operator. She was a member of Saint George Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Springfield and a member of the Philoptochos Society and the Cretan Ladies Society “Proodos”. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 44 years, Theodore Peroulakis. She leaves her three loving sons and their spouses, Pantelis (Diane) Peroulakis, Anthony (Hope) Peroulakis and Dimitrios (Cheryl) Peroulakis, all of Florida; her loving daughter and son-in-law with whom she lived, Katina (George) Bouzakis of Manchester, CT; her cherished ten grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; her dear sister, Eftyhia Karapatakis of Skines, Crete, Greece; her dear sister-in-law, Maria Marangoudakis of Springfield; and her many dear nephews, nieces and cousins in the United States, Canada and Greece. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her two dear brothers, Peter and Emmanuel Marangoudakis; her dear sister-in-law, Chrysoula Marangoudakis; and her dear brother-in-law, Demitrios Karapatakis. Her family will receive friends on Friday, June 12, 2020 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Springfield Chapels, (413-737-1177), 7 Chapin Terrace, Springfield, MA 01107, (Please limit your time with her family, face masks are required to enter the funeral home and funeral home capacity is limited to 40% per Massachusetts guidelines). Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service on Saturday, June 13, 2020 at 9:30 a.m. at Saint George Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 2320 Main Street, Springfield, MA 01107. Her burial will be private at Oak Grove Cemetery in Springfield. Her family requests that memorial donations be made in her memory to Saint George Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 22 Saint George Road, Springfield, MA 01104 or the Cretan Ladies Society “Proodos”, 35 Carew Street, Springfield, MA 01104.
