Herman Otis Purvis, Jr., 66 of Ocilla, Georgia, died Monday, June 8, 2020, at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton, Georgia.
Graveside services will be held.
Mr. Purvis was born February 22, 1954, in Ocilla, Georgia, to the late Herman Otis & Mae Ruth Paulk Purvis. He graduated from Irwin County High School and lived in the community all of his life. Mr. Purvis was a farmer and a member of the Irwin County Saddle Club. He received many trophies participating in horse shows. Mr. Purvis was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his brother Brad & Deanne Purvis of Ocilla; a sister-in-law, Bonnie & Joe Nobles of Ocilla; and nieces and nephews: Liz Cary & Richard of Wilmington, Delaware, Travis Purvis & Beth of Lax, Chance Purvis of Ocilla and Eli Purvis of Ocilla. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Derwin Purvis.
