Obituary

BRIDGTON- G Robert Wentworth passed away at the age of 88 on June 3, 2020 due to natural causes. His daughter, Rebecca, was with him when he went home to be with our Heavenly Father.
He was born on July 13, 1931 to George & Mary Wentworth in Melrose, MA.
He was a graduate of Thornton Academy in Saco, ME. He attended the University of Maine and also attended Bob Jones University in South Carolina. He was drafted into the US Army in 1953 where he served as a signalman. He served in the US Army both active duty and reserve duty until 1958.
After his time in the military, he spent a great many years working in the woolen mills of Biddeford and Sanford, ME.
He liked working with kids in the local church for several years where he ministered to kids in their older elementary and early teen years. He served on the local school board for many years at Ossipee Valley Christian School.
He and his wife, Louise, attended church in Rochester, Parsonsfield, Cornish, Sanford, Lebanon and Naples over the course of 51 years. He and Louise married in June of 1968 where they lived together in Lebanon ME, Newfield ME, and in Bridgton ME during those 51 years. They lived on the family property for 36 of those years which had been in the family going back to the early 1800s. Some portions of the land are still in the family to this day.
He had a very sweet, kind, and gentle spirit about him. That was what many loved about him, including the doctors and nurses who came to know him in his different stays at the area hospitals over the last couple of years. He loved sharing his testimony and knowledge of the Lord with anyone willing to listen right up to his last day.
He is survived by his wife, Louise Wentworth, daughter Rebecca Morrison, son-in-law Peter Morrison, granddaughter Sharalee Morrison, cousins Paul & Valerie Wentworth, cousin Estherbelle Beatty, several other cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at Cornerstone Gospel Church in Naples at a later date. In lieu of flowers, his wish was for monetary donations to be made to the Awana Youth Program at Cornerstone Gospel Church … 29 Sebago Road … Naples, ME 04055
