Edward W. Bush Jr., 82, of Noank and formerly West Hartford, passed away early Monday morning at The Westerly Hospital.
Born in Hartford son of the late Edward W. Bush and Helen (Waite) Bush, he graduated from Loomis School in 1941 and Dartmouth College, class of 1945. He served three years as a Lt. in the US Naval Reserve during World War II and graduated from Amos Tuck School of Business Administration in 1947.
For many years he was employed in the financial division of Aetna Life & Casuality, retiring as Vice President of Aetna Realty in December, 1985.
He was a member of Asylum Hill Congregational Church and was a current member of the Noank Baptist Church and former member of the Hartford Golf Club and the Hartford Tennis Club.
For over 20 years, he was a member and volunteer at the Mystic Seaport Museum until the time of his death.
He is survived by three children, Kimberly E. Bush of Brooklyn, NY, Barbara “Bobbie” Bush of Salem, MA, and David T. Bush of Kettering, OH; four grandchildren, Mateo Lopez-Castillo, Julian Lopez-Castillo, Kayla Dakota Bush, Hanalei Jade Bush;and his former wife, Mary Elizabeth Pardy.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Margery P. Bush who died July 15, 1989.
A Memorial Service will be conducted at Noank Baptist Church on Saturday at 11am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Asylum Hill Congregational Church, Noank Baptist Church of the Mystic Seaport Museum.
