Leicester: Our mother Maria A. (Szenk) Rollins of Leicester died peacefully, Saturday May 23, 2020 at Christopher House in Worcester.
Maria began her life in Villany, Hungary on her family vineyard. She was the daughter of Anfal and Anna (Confiend) Szenk. She married Joseph Rollins on Dec. 2, 1950 after coming to America.
She raised three children and worked as a seamstress for the Ladies Garment Workers Union for over 50 years. Maria loved cooking, sewing and entertaining. Her hospitality went above and beyond.
Maria left this earth and went to her heavenly home at age 95. Maria was the loving wife of Joseph J. Rollins who died in 2014. She leaves a son Joseph W. Rollins, two daughters Susan Rollins-Daige and Karen Eldridge Leicester, 10 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren.
Maria was a faithful member of St Pius X Parish in Leicester. She was special woman beyond compare. Her talents were many. Her honesty refreshing. Her friendship long lasting. Her love true unfailing and unconditional. She will be dearly missed.
Due to the current pandemic conditions, no immediate services are planned. MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St., Leicester is assisting the family with arrangements.
