Julia S. Teixeira, age 81, of New Bedford passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on May 28, 2020 at home.
Born in New Bedford, daughter of the late Joseph Teixeira and Dorothy (Silva) Salley, she was raised by her late grandmother Mary Teixeira- Gelmette.
She enjoyed working as a CNA, volunteering, and helping anyone who needed a hand. Julia was a strong and caring woman.
Survivors include a son, Michael Fields and his wife Susan of Hyannis, 7 daughters, Kathy Fields of Arizona, Lisa Silva of California, Donna Mayes of South Carolina, Deidre Jarvis of Georgia, Kim Cruz, Leslie Anderson and Roberta Robinson all of New Bedford, her siblings, Neil Salley, Don Salley, James Salley, Carolyn Salley and Cindy Salley; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her son James Fields, Jr. and the sister of the late Ralph S. Teixeira, Edward S. Teixeira, Doris S. Teixeira Raymond S. Teixeira and Paul S. Teixeira.
