Randy Allen Morgan, 68, of Ocilla passed away Friday, May 29, 2020, at his residence. A graveside funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, May 31, 2020, at Evergreen Cemetery in Fitzgerald, where he will be laid to rest. The Rev. Stephen Norris and the Rev. Jeremy Cox will officiate. The family will receive friends at Evergreen Cemetery in Fitzgerald from 2:00 p.m. until the hour of the service. The family will be meeting at the home of Sandi and Al Pilcher, 844 Black Gum Road, Ocilla, Georgia.
T. J. Wilson, Jason Cook, Wright Walker, Chad Miller, Nathan Roberts, Chance Gamble, Bryant Smith, William Freeman, Greg Freeman, Curt Morgan and Jyquez Marshall will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Born December 26, 1951 in Irwin County, Mr. Morgan was the son of the late William Randolph Morgan and Jerell Handley Morgan. He was retired from CSX Railroad and a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Ocilla. He was an active member of the Railroad Retirement Club and he loved to fish, hunt and spend time with his grandchildren.
Mr. Morgan is survived by his wife of 48 years, Barbara Freeman Morgan of Ocilla; one son and daughter-in-law, Allen and Rose Morgan of Decatur, Alabama; one daughter and son-in-law, Sandi and Al Pilcher of Ocilla; one brother and sister-in-law, Tony and Theresa Morgan of Ocilla; seven grandchildren and their spouses, Cam Morgan, Shaw and Paulyna Pilcher, Luke Morgan, Seth Pilcher, Lizzie Morgan, Chase and Heather Shattles and Chasidy Shattles; two great-grandchildren, Easton Shattles and Hudson Shattles; and several nieces and nephews.
