In Boston, Jose A. Sousa, Age 75, passed away in Brigham & Women’s Hospital on May 24, 2020. Jose was the husband of Lucia (Santos) Sousa of Swansea and North Dighton. He was born on St. Michael, Portugal, the son of the late Jose & Maria Sousa. Jose immigrated to the U.S. in 1970 and lived in Fall River and North Dighton. He worked as a mechanical maintenance worker for the Steven’s Company, formerly known as Priority Finishing. Jose enjoyed fishing, farming, spending time with his family, especially his beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is survived by his children; Anna Silvia and husband Paul of North Dighton, Mario Sousa and wife Isabel of Swansea, Lucy Arruda of Taunton, Joseph Sousa and his longtime companion Alicia Schultz of MS and Sandra Silva and husband David of New Bedford, his grandchildren; Andrew Cabral, Ashley Barten, Amanda Diogo, Stephanie Cabral, Cheyanne Sousa, Paul Lenelin, Faith Lemelin, Alyssa Sousa, Aden Silva, Logan Sousa, and Connor Silva and 10 great grandchildren, his sister Juventina Arruda of Canada and the late Irene Botelho and Fernando Sousa. A private wake will be held at the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St., Taunton MA 02780 with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow in St. Anthony’s Church in Taunton Monday. June 1st at 11 AM. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Fall River.
