Dorothy (Burdick) Fusaro, 78, of Ledyard, died Monday morning at Mystic Manor.
Mrs. Fusaro was born in Westerly on July 12, 1927 one of nine children to Earl and Florence (Allen) Burdick. Raised in Mystic, she attended local schools.
In earlier years, she was employed as a nurses aide at Hamilton Pavilion and Mystic Manor. She also was employed at Youman’s Cleaning prior to her retirement.
An avid walker, she also enjoyed driving and will be remembered for her love of her family and her devotion to helping others.
Her husband, George T. Fusaro, died April 16, 2001. She is survived by her children, Dawn M. Talbot of Sterling, Katherine M. McKibben of Gales Ferry, and Susan J. Holmes of Canterbury; her siblings, Norma Rogers of Preston, Margie Balestracci of MA, Clifford Burdick of North Stonington, Carol Beck of VT, Richard Burdick of Mystic, and Ruth Stone of TN; and five grandchildren. She was predeceased by a sister, Lois Maye, a brother Russell Burdick, and a grandson Jeremy Holmes.
Her family will greet relatives and friends at The Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Historic downtown Mystic on Thursday from 11-11:45am followed by a funeral service at 12noon. Burial will be in Avery-Stoddard Cemetery.
