Ruth R. (Entwistle) Roberts of New Bedford passed away Saturday May 23, 2020 at the New Bedford Jewish Convalescent Home after a long period of declining health at the age of 92. She was the wife of the late Paul V. Roberts.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Frank and Lilian (Taylor) Entwistle, she lived in New Bedford for most of her life.
Mrs. Roberts was formerly employed by the New Bedford School Department as a paraprofessional at the DeValles School until her retirement at the age of 80.
She had kept active playing Bingo and singing in the Glee Club at the Olympia Towers Apartments while she resided there.
She is survived by two daughters, Donna M. Lewis and her husband Thomas of New Bedford and Debra R. Enos of Acushnet; six grandchildren, Dawn Viveiros, Michael Lewis, Sarah Dugal, Lauren McMahon, Naomi Auger, and Hilary Auger; and six great-grandchildren, Alexia Kavanaugh, Laila Johnson, Steven Dias, Joseph Lewis, Levi Johnson, and Emmett Dugal.
She was predeceased by her son-in-law, John Enos, and her siblings, Harold Entwistle, Gordon Entwistle Robert Entwistle, Ida Vancour, Freda Harris, and Irene Murray.
