Edwina W. Wynn, 88, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Friday, May 22, 2020, at her residence.
Private graveside services will be held.
Mrs. Wynn was born August 31, 1931, in Irwin County, Georgia, to the late James Joseph Wiley, Sr. & Glennie Pauline Taylor Wiley. She lived in the community all of her life and was a 1948 graduate of Fitzgerald High School. She began working as a telephone operator for General Telephone Company and retired as an operator service supervisor after 28 years. Mrs. Wynn also worked for Alvin Wynn Electric Company, H & R Block and Colony Peanut. She loved flowers and worked for Scott’s Florist and E.S. Winn. Mrs. Wynn loved her family and grandchildren. She was a member of Arbor Baptist Church for 58 years and served on various committees and helped with Vacation Bible School. She had a very strong faith and loved her church.
She is survived by her children: Linda Horne & Pete of Perry and Eddie Benford & Marcia of Fitzgerald; grandchildren: Andy & Tia Pridgen, Jacob & Jodi Pridgen and Peter Horne and great-grandchildren: Kaylin Pridgen, Wyatt Pridgen, Judd Pridgen and Jaci Pridgen. Several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Wynn, daughter, Kay Pridgen; two brothers: James J. “Jimmy” Wiley, Jr. and Bobby E. Wiley; a sister, Montyne Roberson.
