Jeannette (Picard) Hamel, age 84, passed away on May 19, 2020 from Mercy Medical Center. She was born on May 17, 1936 in Chicopee, a daughter of the late Alexander and Regina (Rivest) Picard. Jeannette worked as a counselor for Service Net for many years before she retired. She is predeceased by her husband William L. Hamel Sr., who passed away in 2001. She is survived by her son William Hamel Jr. and his wife Jennifer of Chicopee; her daughter Melissa Gran and her husband David of Newington, CT; two sisters, Rita LaFlamme and her husband Norman of Chicopee and Cecile Haley of TN; five grandchildren, Brittany, Matthew, Austin, Isaac and Ryleigh and 3 beloved great grandchildren, Laila, Jamie and Lola. She is predeceased by her brother Eugene Picard and sister Lorraine Flynn. The family is going to postpone services until a later date, after COVID-19 restrictions have been lifted.
