Alan C. Bingel, 56, of Derry, NH died February 18, 2006 at Catholic Medical Center in Manchester, NH following a sudden illness. He was born in Evanston, IL on October 22, 1949, the son of the late Roy and Adeline (Jacobson) Bingel. He was raised in Palentine, IL. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era and resided for a time in McHenry, IL. He also resided in for eighteen years in North Carolina before moving to Derry where he has lived since 1998. He owned and operated Communications Rental with his son. Alan loved to travel and enjoyed camping, fishing and the companionship of his two dogs, Jack and Bailey.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Kathleen (Harer) Bingel of Derry, a daughter, Jennifer A. Bingel of Moneta, VA, a son, Christopher A. Bingel of Derry, two sisters, Carolyn Simmons and her husband, Pat of Des Plaines, IL and Karen Pressney and her husband Gary of Fox Lake, IL, also many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Edwin Nelson.
Calling hours were held on Tuesday from 6 to 8 PM in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. A prayer service was conducted at 7:30 PM. Funeral services followed by cremation were held in North Carolina later in the week.
