Obituary

James Leonard Conway II, age 50, died May 20,2020 of complications from Muscular Dystrophy.
Born in Norwood, April 23,1970 the son of the late Lillis (Cullinane and James L. Conway, Jimmy had lived in Walpole for most of his life.
He was a graduate of Walpole High School . After graduation he served in the Army for two years, earning marksmanship medals, and finished in Army Intelligence.
Following h his military service he attended the University of Massachusetts, Amherst for almost 4 years and eventually received his degree from Massasoit College.
Jimmy worked as a security guard and accounts manager at Northrop Siemens and Northeast Security until his disability became too severe.
His father was a Boy Scout leader, and Jimmy started in the Weeblos and continued all the way to become an Eagle Scout. His project was to clean up and beautify an area behind the Walpole Housing Authority on Diamond Pond Terrace. He and his father attended the 75th anniversary year jamboree of the Boy Scouts in Australia in 1987.
He was also involved with military out-reach and charities.
Jimmy was a great music lover and movie buff. He was extremely fond of Star Wars, Superheroes, especially Batman, and Lord of the Rings.
Jimmy was always very interested in history, government, politics and the military. He was a high school ambassador through a State Department program for three weeks to the Soviet Union and also for three weeks to China.
In college he lived and studied in Japan for one Summer. He traveled all over the U.S. and also the world including Egypt, China, Canada, Greece, Great Britain, Ireland and all of Europe at various times.
He is proceeded in death by his parents , his sister Deborah Hancock and her daughter Heather; his brothers Gene and Herbert Roberts.
He is survived by his brother Dean Roberts; his nieces and nephew raised by his parents and who grew up with him Julie, Shauna and Dean Roberts, his best friend Jim Murray, his cousin and best friend Michael MacDonald, his Aunt Ellen MacDonald; and his former wife Brooke Beverly.
Services will be private.
