Obituary

Salvatore 'Sammy' Toto, passed away on May 18th while in Morton Hospital in Taunton, he was 83 years young.  He was the devoted husband to Kathleen (Landry) Toto, father to Lisa Arbo and Mary Intinarelli, her husband Eric and son Jeffrey, grandfather to Jordan and Cameron, a loving brother to his sister Theresa Filleti and his brother n' law Carmen, and his late sister Diana O'toole.  He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.

He was an Army Veteran that served for 3 years.  He loved making people laugh with jokes and riddles, anyone that met him said he was memorable.  He was happiest when driving around with his wife yard sailing and going to flea markets, he also loved auctions and collecting antiques, he had an eye for a bargain and hated to see anything thrown away that could be put to good use.

He was also self-employed for 14 years in the ceramic business until he started working at Brigham and Women’s hospital as a biomedical engineering technician in 1976 until he retired in the early nineties.  While there, he suggested that the hospital start recycling the equipment, by doing that he saved the hospital $27,000 between January 1985 and June 1986.  Because of this, they developed a recycling program which he was credited for by coming up with the idea.

He was loved by many, all of whom love and will miss him dearly.

A celebration of life will be at a later date.
