Obituary

Betty Jean Wallace, 96, of Anderson, passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 14, after an extended illness.
She was born in Indianapolis, IN. Betty graduated from Mount Comfort High School in 1942. Shortly thereafter, she married Clifford Shetterly, the father of her two sons. Clifford passed away sadly at the age of 47 in 1949. Later Betty married Eugene Wallace and they were married for 50 years until his passing in 2001.
Betty worked at Delco Remy for 31.6 years and was a member of Local 662. After retirement, she and Eugene moved to Florida until his death, when she moved back to Anderson, where she spent the rest of her life living with her son and his wife. She was a faithful member of The Redeemer Baptist Church in Anderson and never missed a Sunday, unless she was ill. She absolutely loved the Indiana Pacers and the Indianapolis Colts and watched every game on TV. She loved her three dogs, five cats, her horse and her llama, Bobby. She loved and was loved by her large extended family and never forgot a birthday or Christmas for all of them.
Betty is survived by her two sons, Terry (Marsha) Shetterly of Florida and David (Mary Ann) Shetterly of Anderson, grandchildren, Brett Shetterly, Anderson; Michelle (Kenny) Shetterly, Broad Ripple, Gerry (Stephanie) Shryock, Anderson, Michelle (Rob) Lyons of Anderson And Jason (Michelle) Shryock, Florida; and many great and great-great-grandchildren.
Betty was preceded in death by her two husbands and her parents, Merle and Ellen Offenbacker.
